چکیده

The incidence of type 1 diabetes in children in India and Pakistan is remarkably low. However, south Asian children resident in the UK have a rising incidence of type 1 diabetes, approaching that of the indigenous population. There is particular concern about the emergence of type 2 diabetes in children, and the consequent morbidity and mortality. 5 South Asian children are particularly at risk of type 2 diabetes. A total of 160 children aged 0–16 attend the diabetic clinic in Bradford, of which 58 (38%) are of south Asian origin. In comparison, south Asian children comprise 27% and 32% of the primary and secondary school populations, respectively. Most have type 1 diabetes, but some have more unusual conditions not seen in the indigenous children.

Analysis of Flow of Nanofluid through a Porous Channel with Expanding or Contracting Walls using Chebychev Spectral Collocation Method

In this work, we applied Chebychev spectral collocation method to analyze the unsteady two-dimensional flow of nanofluid in a porous channel through expanding or contracting walls with large injection or suction. The solutions are used to study the effects of various parameters on the flow of the nanofluid in the porous channel. From the analysis, It was established that increase in expansion r...

Performance, Thermal Stability and Optimum Design Analyses of Rectangular Fin with Temperature-Dependent Thermal Properties and Internal Heat Generation

In this study, we analysed the thermal performance, thermal stability and optimum design analyses of a longitudinal, rectangular fin with temperature-dependent, thermal properties and internal heat generation under multi-boiling heat transfer using Haar wavelet collocation method. The effects of the key and controlling parameters on the thermal performance of the fin are investigated. The therm...
